The New Mini is here

Here it is, the new mini catalogue. Click the image on the side bar to download a pdf of the catalogue or drop me a line and I will get one to you. Unfortunately for me I haven't had a chance to play with some of my new things yet, so many pressing things on the to do list at this time of the year.

I am looking forward to Monday's Create night where I will hopefully get a chance to do just that, create, surrounded by a great bunch of people. Come and join us.

My lives merge

At this time of the year there is so much going on, I try to compartmentalise my life, but when life gets busy they run into each other. This is the time of the year for celebrating all that we have done and achieved. So for our last Guide meeting my challenge was to "make it special" as part of my ongoing professional development. I needed to do a badge presentation, and you know how much I like bags, so here is the stack for the girls which we are going to put their badges in to present them with. I hope they like them, especially as I'm now unable to be there as it is Master 1's school prize giving evening.

For the bags I used the retired in colours, which so of you may not recognise. I'm busy trying to use all my bits and pieces up as I need to make some room for all my new crafting essentials.

Campfire Pav

Yes, I know it has been some time, but crafting had to take a back seat for a while I indulged in my other passion Girl Guiding. Last weekend we went to camp. We set ourselves a challenge and did a lot of the cooking on fires. A group of leaders had done our advanced outdoor cooking module earlier in the year and Tricia decided that we would successfully cook a pavlova in the fire. And we succeeded. It was more crunchy that fluffy but than is how I like it and the arms of us all were a bit tired as no electricity to use the electric beater hence less fluff.

Our dinner menu was, Apricot Chicken done in the camp oven, baked potatoes in the embers, rice cooked in a haybox, mince chowmein cooked over the fire, dessert was pavola, apple crumble cooked over the fire, selfsaucing chocolate pudding steamed in an oven bag - all of us were so stuffed after it was soooo yummy.

Sesame Street Turns 40

Yes, I am now starting to show my age when I heard that Seasame Street, turned 40 this week, especially when trying to explain to the children that, that was all kids TV was when I was there age.

How timely when I had made these lollipops a few weeks ago. I found the instructions somewhere on the net. I went back today to find the wonderful creative person who worked all this out and went round and round in circles and couldn't find who, so I apologise profusely for not giving full credit where credit is due. Who knew you could do so much with a couple of punches.

The Bag Lady - That's Me

I beleive I am starting a new fetish and that is bags. Here are a few that I have made lately. Three are made using the lovely Parisian Breeze designer series paper that is card stock weight. It is adorable and unfortunately is only available in the spring mini catalogue so your opportunity to purchase will be up soon, so get in quick. I have used the Flower Fusion Too felt flowers to add that extra zing. The other bag is made with Pretty in Pink 12x12 card and decorated with Raspberry Tart DSP.

My new Stampin' Up! website

Hi Everyone,

This is where my limits with technology are being tested. I now have a Stampin' Up! website, (I'd like to be able to show you the welcome page, but I don't know how to take a snapshot of it) where you can view all the current special/promotions without having to wait for me to send something out to you. You can view the current catalogues, projects, my calander and much, much more. I am looking forward to learning how to use it.

It is another great tool to enable me to keep in touch with you. I will apologise in advance for any glitches that may occur. I will be able to do all my newsletters from this site, if you receive one, you will need to enable your inbox to open the images from me as otherwise it will just look like an empty email from me.

Drop by and have a look http://carolynloveday.stampinup.net

Christmas Wonder

Images copyright Stampin' Up! 1989-2009
On a wet and thundery afternoon, with the kids playing nicely with the playdough and Lego (though not together), I had the opportunity to spend some time casing stuff on Splitcoaststampers, aiming to be inspired in order to design some cards for my Friday night class. But alas I got side tracked and just had to make these cards. Thanks to Patty (LaLatty) on splitcoaststampers she had made a card using one sheet wonder (OSW), so I had to too. I stamped one sheet of A4 card and then cut it up to make cards. From that one sheet of stamped card I made the ten cards above. What I used:
Stampset: Snow Swirled
Ink: Real Red, Glorious Green
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Glorious Green
Other: 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon
The snow swirled stampset (pg 30 of the catalogue $53.95) must be one of my favourites, I have been waiting to use it since the new catalogue came out in April, and I am loving it. Call me today to order yours.
Guess the planning for Friday night will be happening tomorrow after the Stampfest planning - do I really need another excuse to stamp??

Wedding Expo

Projects created by Carolyn Loveday, Donna Calley and Jess McDonald.
Some items were inspired by items seen on Splitcoastampers and swaps from convention.
Images are copyright Stampin' Up1 1989-2009

It has been an amazing weekend. I spent some time at the Sista's Conference on Friday and Saturday night's and Sunday at the Wedding Expo. It was great to meet so many new people and to share the passion for stamping. If you are someone I met over the weekend, welcome!

I very much appreciate the team members that enable that to happen. The Wedding Expo meant we spent time having fun making the may things that were on display. I know that I have many more ideas floating around in my head, but not enough hours in the day. The range of Stampin' Up! products means you can make a huge range of coordinating products from invitations, to table settings, including place names and party favours, and thank you cards. You are only limited by your imagination.

I am happy to help you plan your stationery, you might even like to hostess a workshop where you could earn hostess benefits helping towards your stationery, or it maybe an opportunity to up skill your willing team of helpers who are going to help you make your items. Drop me a line fencarrowsmum@gmail.com or call me (09)2383878.

Addition to the family

Surprise, surprise, Stampin has taken a bit of a back seat over the past few days, I haven't photographed all the things I was going to put on my blog, the reason is that I now have a new nephew, so the family has to be number one priority this week. I have taken the excited cousins shopping to choose something for the new baby, plus I have had to be a patient Mummy sitting down with the three masters so each of them could make a card themselves (sorry I can't show them to you as I let them use my new stamps from our training on Saturday and they are not released yet). In addition to that I have had to finish my gift. Not content with something off the shelf, I had to make something, in wool this time, not paper or card. Lets hope the new mummy is up to visitors this afternoon.

Season of Joy Class

By Carolyn Loveday, Images copyright Stampin" Up! 1989-2009

Yes I am already gearing up for Christmas, I know that it will creep up on me and be here before I know it. I am holding a Season of Joy class for $15 on 24 September, where we will make four projects using this stampset. It was this time last year that I purchased this stampset as a customer at a workshop, would I have ever imagined that a year later I would be having a ball being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. At the time I spent hours pouring over the catalogue, and this was the set I chose as a birthday gift from Mum (Thanks Mum!), it is such a versitile set, I'm still finding new ways to use it.
For this card I used the tag punches to make the star/flower (I have been waiting all year to do this), vellum paper, ski slope designer series paper from the latest mini catalogue, and hardware from the hodge podge kit.
Bookings for this class are essential. Contact me today to save your place (09) 2383878 or fencarrowsmum@gmail.com.

Birthdays Galore

For our family it has certainly been birthday week. Master 1 turned 8, along with that many of our friends have also had children with birthdays. As a result the weekend has seen a number of birthday parties. Of course at the last minute we needed birthday cards. I have been mulling over this design for a few weeks, ever since the Choo choo stampset from the spring mini catalogue arrived. I had actually been thinking Christmas and Christmas colours, with a train load of presents. This is the birthday version a couple of friends received this weekend. For this I used
Stampsets: Choo choo & Loads of Love Accessories stampsets, On track wheel,
Cardstock: Tempting turquoise, brilliant blue and whisper white
Ink Pads: basic black, tempting turquoise, brilliant blue, green galore, and real red ink.
At the moment I'm into making cards that are a long fold, I think it makes them a little differnt and doesn't cost a cent.
